CC3 had a blast hanging with Vince Neil and Skid Row at the Expo last weekend. Scotti Hill from Skid Row was especially fun to hang with - he even came and jammed with CC3 during the show. "It was cool to see people we've listened our whole lives to in a different environment," (Scruggs) "and I'll never forget rocking with Scotti on stage!" Special thanks to Matthew Stevens for all his help.
WWE's Chris Benoit
August Christopher would like to formally apologize to our fans regarding the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide. If we had any idea that Benoit was abusing drugs or could potentially harm his family we would have never written his theme song. We enjoyed a nice relationship with the former wrestler and also took pride in writing Sid Vicious' theme song as well, but have officially separated ourselves from the wrestling industry all together at this time.
The band returned to USI on May 13 in Southern Indiana for a huge performance at the annual Springfest! "We had a great show, wonderful tournout, and I got to be a judge for the USIdol (American Idol-esque) competition" (Criss). AC performed songs from both "Album Cover" and the new record "Circles" to fans who have waited two years to see the band perform. "I've been waiting FOREVER to see AC again, I'm so glad you guys came back!" (Laura Query, USI Student).
Spring Break A Blast! - MTV Official Headquarters, Girls Gone Wild!
Video Footage From Naked Cowboy at Spring Break Up
The show at Club Lavela in Panama City Beach was officially a BLAST! We hung out with Joseph Francis (infamous owner of 'Girls Gone Wild') and the awesome cover band "Pop Tart Monkeys". We will be at Lavela again this summer and hope to see you down there - it's worth the trip! "The best part about Spring Break is going down there and playing all ORIGINAL material every year and winning over so many new fans each time" (Jay). Thanks to Richard, Lindz, Nate and all the Spring Breakers out there who holla'd (including Joel who showed up to play bass and found out he was playing guitar when he got there - OUCH!)
AC also got together with the Naked Cowboy early on Sunday to re-enact a moment that happened earlier in the week onstage. The result was a lot of fun and will be used for his upcoming reality show directed by Ron Israel; check the unedited freestyle NOW!
Check Channel 2 News for full length interview before/after the event. Read the Leaf-Chronicle article, including 2 days on the front page (thanks Ann Wallace and Maria McClure)! CC3 in Biloxi, MS
CC3 made a special trip to Biloxi, MS to compete for a spot at the Grand Casino earlier this week. The band drove 15 hours to audition for 20 minutes, with Criss having the FLU! After kicking ACE at the event (even being told CC3 was one of the best bands out of 60 so far) Criss vomitted 4 times outside the club. The best part is when the Biloxi Fire Dept showed up in a firetruck and asked CC is he was ok...the life of a rock star, I guess...
Criss Acts as Correspondant in Florida for - Z97.5 fm in Tennessee! All awesome bikini pics online!
7 Days straight. That's right, 7 days, Girls Gone Wild, Maxim Magazine, the whole nine - and, oh yeah, AUGUST CHRISTOPHER. Well, it is finally over and it was everything we thought it would be and much more! Criss' pics are online at Z97.5 fm (Clarksville, TN), where he also gave interviews everyday the band was gone at 5pm CST, but more pics are to come on our pictures page also! Stay tuned...
AC bids Farewell to William Scruggs
Well, what do we say? You guys have known him and loved him: "PPG" (also known as William "I Don't Want No" Scruggs) who started with AC as a sub bass player in 2001, returned to "sub duties" as of Jan 1, 2008. He is working on a solo thang and doing some cool things in Nashville. We will be playing with world famous Steve Price starting in January and Scruggs will still be a sub for future dates, so you may run into him again... Thanks William for EVERYTHING!!!
Rockin For Kids Another Blast!
We had a great time celebrating yet another show for the Goodfellas! Thanks to all who attended, and definitely check out the young kids from "Kaptain Krunch and the Cereal Killers" when you get a chance: "They surprised all of us!" (Scruggs)
Criss was featured in the new Trisha Yearwood video "Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love" as her drummer, to be released in the fall of this year. "Trisha was extremely sweet and a lot of fun to work with" (Criss), "she made the shoot a very pleasant experience!"
Check some of Criss' other TV/movie appearances, including:
Trent Tomlinson, "Drunker Than Me" for a glimpse of AC frontman on drums - reckless, shirtless, and ROCKIN!
"Whiskey Lullaby" (CMT Video of the Year) by Brad Paisley
Cledus T Judd's "I Love Nascar", drummer in "Paycheck Woman"
'Naked singer' in Vince Gill's "How Can I Kiss The Lips...".
Other acting credits include announcer on CMA's Musicfest (on CBS) and Quentin Tarantino's "Daltry Calhoun" with Johnny Knoxville (read more AC news for details!)
AC has been chosen by Lightning 100 for the Local Artist Spotlight all week (July 8/15). Listen to 100.1 FM to hear "I Don't Feel Love" every day at 2:45pm and 8:45pm (CST). Thanks to the peeps at Lightning 100 for their continued support!
AC Headlines Sunset Series - Thousands in Attendance
The last time AC performed at the Sunset Series at the Executive Inn was to shoot footage for the AC DVD back in 2005. We are proud to announce that the return of AC to the Sunset Series was everything the band expected and MORE!!! We will have pics up soon; thanks to all the fans who made their own AC T-shirts and to Roberts Motors for sponsoring. Proceeds all went to Autism Support Network.
Int'l BBQ Fest Another Huge Success
"There is absolutely nothing better than playing the BBQ fest every year! It's just so cool to have over 1000 fans singing along to EVERY AC song as we play" (Jay). Once again, the crowd did not disappoint and brought all their friends, making this year the best year so far. Fans sent pics via email to the band, which are already posted on myspace.
Screen Show Filming A Success!
SCREEN SHOW CAST: JUNIOR (top left - drums, keys, turntable, bongotar) CC (top right - gtrs, vocal, harmonica, theramin, KAT) CHEAT (bottom left - bass, vocals) CRISS (bottom right - vocals). THOMAS (Cheat's brother/roadie/wannabe/webmaster) who just didn't look good enough for the website.
FOR THOSE AC-HEADS WHO ARE A LITTLE CURIOUS ABOUT THE ABOVE 'SCREEN SHOW:
After about a year of gathering ideas, creating a script, setlist, and complete stage show; Criss has started working on his latest endeavor: a live, interactive, multimedia show including 4 band members (and a a wannabee relative) who will hit the road and perform live. The catch is that all 4 band members will be played by Criss himself! The show includes a space ship, van diving, beach 'karate', basketball, a 19' x 11' screen, costume changes and much more!
"Nothing like this has EVER been done before, I'm extremely excited about how things have been going so far!" (Criss)
Director Titus Keinningham from the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw tour is directing the project and we are VERY EXCITED!
Rockin For Kids Benefit A Huge Success!
AC raised thousands of dollars for Goodfellows with a great show, selling over 500 tickets at $10! Thanks so much to all the fans, radio stations, and fellow friends that came out to support the cause. Check our myspace page for comments from peeps in attendance!
Please tune in to "NOT YOUR AVERAGE TRAVEL GUIDE" every Monday at 8 & 11pm EST with AC's good friend and host Shane Reynolds! You will hear music from August Christopher, Ian Duncan, Kevin Brennan and Joel Wilson. The show airs every Monday, so don't miss it!
The new, much anticipated follow-up to AC's debut is finally finished! "Circles" was recorded in Nashville, TN with the fans in mind. The new record has all the new songs you've been listening to the band craft as well as 3 old tracks re-written and re-recorded from the old album. "I'm really excited about these new songs and the theme of this new record!" (Criss) "I've got a great feeling about the energy and the story this record tells."
All the CD release parties so far have been extremely succesful, we have sold out of merchandise at two of these shows, including the new T-shirts and hoodies!
One of AC's Weirdest Gigs Yet...
Criss was asked to perform for this year's Charity Ball in Owensboro, KY - but the situation was a little different than other years. "We need you to make whale sounds for an hour" (Christine Willis - Ent. Director). Are you KIDDING ME?
Anyhow, CC put together a full hour of background whale sounds, percussion, weird guitars, and vocal screams (for sale online in a few weeks) and accompanied himself with his acoustic guitar, effects board (wah, distortion, compression), a floor tom, two different microphones for vocal effects, and a wardrobe from hell!
"It was the most interesting show I've ever had; the most creative form of expression. It's easy to run out of ideas in a matter of minutes!" (CC). "Criss was incredible and exactly what we were looking for!" (Willis).
